Interviews

I interviewed Erin, my sister about finance, and budgeting in life just after coming out of college.

  1. What do you spend most of your monthly salary on?
Rent and Utilities. The biggest part of my budget has to be utilities such as cable, car payment and rent. For me, rent takes up the most in my budget.

    2.   Would you recommend spending a lot or a little on student loans, and why?
I would pay it off as soon as possible. Pay off loans if you can because the interest can eventually become greater than the amount you first borrowed.

    3.    To you, what is credit score?
To me credit score, is a score that you get when you pay loans and fees on time. I keep a good credit score by paying all of my loans on time.

    4.    What are some needs and wants in your life?
Some needs are my rent (Apartment), Utilities (Electricity, Internet, Water etc) Food and so on. Some wants would be Clothes (That I don’t need, but look nice), Going out to eat, going to see movies etc.

   5.     Is there any advice that you have for people just getting out of college and  into adulthood?
Make a budget every month. I do this, and it helps me plan out what I can afford and can’t afford this month. I can also allocate money for my wants, and set goals for myself for the month.
